Paris Bordone also Paris Pascalinus Bordone (1500 - 1571)
After his father’s death, by 1508 Bordone had moved with his mother to Venice, where he was later a pupil of Titian (c 1488/90–1576), whose influence remained perceptible in his paintings. He also studied works by Giorgione, Palma il Vecchio and Pordenone. Bordone’s work developed from early calm compositions to an enhanced dramatic quality and more intense colouration. Around 1540, his work reflected mannerism in elegant poses and cool colours. Further influences included Giorgio Vasari and Tintoretto.
