A watercolour study for this work (Residenzgalerie Salzburg, Inv.-no. 255) dated 1842/43 is now in the Graphic Art Collection of the Residenzgalerie Salzburg (Inv.-no. 34), a further drawing dating from the same time in the Graphic Art Collection of the Albertina in Vienna (Inv.-no. 14107), and a preliminary sketch in the State Graphic Art Collection in Munich (Inv.-no. 2223 132). A larger oil painting dated 1842 is now privately owned. In 1852, Fischbach’s portfolio “Malerische Ansichten von Salzburg und Oberösterreich” [a painter’s views of Salzburg and Upper Austria] with 12 charcoal drawings was successfully reproduced as steel engravings.
