Franz Xaver Mandl (1800 oder/or 1812 - vor/bevor 1880 (?))

Mandl, landscape painter and portraitist, was born in Salzburg either on 31 October 1800 or on 25 November 1812 (SAUR Bio-bibliographischer Index A–Z, vol. 6, 2000, p 492). He studied around 1830 in Munich, where he showed this "View of Salzburg" in 1835. In 1829 he painted a portrait of Archbishop Augustin Gruber. From 1838 he settled in Bamberg and devoted himself primarily to portait-painting. He died in Bamberg before 1880 (?) (SAUR Bio-bibliographischer Index A–Z, vol. 6, 2000, p 492).
