Giacomo del Pò (1652 - 1726)

A late baroque painter, he also painted series of frescos in aristocratic palaces. From 1720, Pò executed three ceiling paintings for Prince Eugene of Savoy (1663–1736) in the Upper Belvedere in Vienna. After an initial apprenticeship with his father Pietro, a student of Domenichino (1581–1641), he studied in the Rome workshop of Nicolas Poussin (1594–1665). While he was initially classically orientated, his later works show the influence of Neapolitan artists.
