Willem de Heusch (vermutlich vor/probably before 1625 - 1692)
Painter, draughtsman and etcher, de Heusch is seen as belonging to the second generation of artists devoted to painting Italianate landscapes. His training is not documented. He spent a period in Italy – during which he frequently signed himself Guglielmo – between his departure from Utrecht (between 1640 and 1645) and his documented presence there in 1649, when Cornelis Poelenburgh, Jan Both and de Heusch formed the council of the Utrecht Guild of St Luke, over which de Heusch presided in 1669. Nicolaes Berchem, J. Lingelbach, C. Poelenburgh und A. v. d. Velde often provided the staffage figures in the paintings of the uncle and teacher of Jacob de Heusch.
