The marking on the back of the painting "Three Women at the Tomb and the Resurrection of Christ" indicate Count Franz Lactanz Firmian (1712–1786), owner of Leopoldskron Palace in Salzburg from 1744 and nephew of Salzburg Prince-Archbishop Leopold Anton Firmian (r. 1727–1744), who had the Palace built. Lactanz, known as an art collector, lived there for over 40 years. Stylistically, on the one hand the picture points to the northern Italian, Lombardo-Venetian region, on the other it has features in common with works by Johann König (1586–1642), who was in Venice before he settled in Augsburg in 1614.
