3D model of the Salzburg Cathedral fassade

With the help of the 3D scale model (1:150), we can show you the early baroque fassade of Salzburg Cathedral as a tactile experience. The architectural elements – such as the three portal arches, the statues, the two towers and the domes – are rendered in accurate detail.

For this model, the fassade was measured – for the first time in the history of the Cathedral – with state-of-the-art laser technique. A total of 150 million laser dots provided the basis for producing the model by means of a 3D printer. The process was made possible through the generous commitment and collaboration of the Linsinger Company and the Kuchl University of Applied Sciences with the art education department of the DomQuartier.

The 3D model stands in the Cathedral Museum in the South Oratory, in the last room on the left.
